Senior CloudOps Engineer – Databases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and serve as the primary contributor to the PostgreSQL stack

• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of database infrastructure

• Manage the infrastructure for the Wrike product

• Develop reliable solutions to achieve a product uptime SLA of 99.9%

• Collaborate with GCP, AWS, and other cloud service providers utilizing the IaC paradigm

• Introduce and provide support for new infrastructure services

• Engage in incident response and management, including on-call responsibilities

• Build and sustain professional relationships within and outside the team

• Participate in high-level technical projects, such as the creation of an internal PostgreSQL-based database management system

• Work together on command and control systems within an international team

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, MVCC, database sharding, WAL, and VACUUM processing

• Expertise in writing and debugging complex SQL queries

• Familiarity with Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging systems

• Experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD in service-oriented architectures

• Proficiency in using Nginx, HAProxy, and Istio for load balancing

• Background in GCP, AWS, and Cloudflare

• Knowledge of Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform for infrastructure as code

• Proficient in Python for automation tasks

• Experience with Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics and Zabbix for monitoring

• Familiarity with Graylog, Logstash, and Fluentd for logging

• Experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI pipelines

• Upper-intermediate English language skills

• Extensive hands-on experience in supporting and optimizing observability stacks

• Intermediate understanding of data networks, security, databases, cloud providers, process automation, and Kubernetes

• Advanced experience in cloud provider management using IaC with AWS, GCP, or Azure

• Advanced skills in Linux administration

• Proven experience in maintaining highly available infrastructure for web application stacks
