Senior Cloud Solutions Architect – AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary advisor for cloud architecture in designated customer environments.

• Assess evolving architectures in accordance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Detect architectural drift and propose remediation strategies.

• Create and maintain architecture diagrams for both current-state and target-state.

• Assist with architecture governance processes and document design decisions.

• Offer expertise on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipeline architectures, containerization strategies (Kubernetes / ECS / EKS), landing zone design, and multi-account governance.

• Suggest automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

• Conduct Well-Architected Reviews and operational readiness evaluations.

• Aid in enhancing observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities.

• Support teams in boosting the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud workloads.

• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and alignment with FinOps.

• Provide guidance on migration strategies including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, replacing, retiring, and supporting phased modernization roadmaps that align with business objectives.

• Deliver architectural guidance in line with FedRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA, FERPA, and NIST frameworks.

• Mentor internal engineering teams on AWS architecture best practices while conducting architecture workshops and technical briefings.

• Collaborate with AWS account teams, AWS TAMs, strategic delivery leadership, and customer engineering leadership, providing monthly and quarterly architecture reviews and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (Required)

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (Preferred)

• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional (Preferred)

• AWS Security Specialty (Preferred)

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA / CKAD) (Preferred)

• FinOps Practitioner (Preferred)

• Over 8 years of experience in cloud architecture.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and deploying AWS architectures.

• Experience in supporting regulated or public-sector cloud environments (e.g., FedRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA, NIST frameworks, or GovCloud).

• Familiarity with AWS networking architecture, identity and access management, multi-account governance, infrastructure-as-code automation, and cloud security architecture.

• Experience in environments involving AWS Organizations, Landing Zone frameworks, DevSecOps pipelines, hybrid architectures, and cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.
