Senior Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of cloud security measures within Google Cloud environments.

• Perform security evaluations to pinpoint vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance deficiencies, then lead remediation initiatives.

• Create and uphold cloud security policies, standards, and best practices in accordance with frameworks such as NIST and SOC 2.

• Collaborate with cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, and product engineering teams to execute secure infrastructure and network modifications.

• Assist DevOps and infrastructure teams with secure deployment methodologies, automation, and cloud security tools.

• Track network activity and security incidents, investigate threats, and respond to incidents to uphold platform integrity.

• Guide team members and provide insights on cloud security strategy, tools, and emerging risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related discipline is mandatory.

• Over 10 years of experience in security engineering or cloud engineering, particularly in cloud and network security, is essential.

• Practical experience securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments is required.

• CCSP or CSA certification is advantageous!

• A solid understanding of cloud networking principles, including virtual networking, routing, subnetting, and access controls.

• Experience in performing cloud security audits, assessments, and planning for remediation.

• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CCM, and SOC 2.

• Proficient in scripting and using infrastructure automation tools like Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Terraform.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and influencing security decisions across various teams.
