Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – VDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools and methodologies to automate the deployment of environments provided to our application teams and business units, ensuring maximum portability while prioritizing simplicity, security, and scalability.

• Focus on networking to provide direct support to platform engineering partners and application development teams in troubleshooting, provisioning, and maintaining various enterprise infrastructure services.

• Deploy, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Configure and manage virtual networks and subnets, encompassing IP addressing, routing, firewall rules, and load balancing.

• Maintain a network topology through IPAM that facilitates integration testing among development teams while remaining adaptable to unify additional environments as necessitated by mergers and acquisitions.

• Design, deploy, maintain, evolve, and optimize VDI platforms along with their underlying network, compute, and storage dependencies.

• Develop and implement Direct Connect, Express Route, and VPN technologies to establish secure, reliable, and resilient connections.

• Collaborate closely with Security and Compliance to ensure adherence to security frameworks (SOC2, Hi-Trust, FEDRAMP, etc.).

• Act as a force multiplier for development teams, empowering them to concentrate on delivering business value promptly and efficiently.

• Lead efforts to transform and standardize foundational infrastructure services as the environment evolves and the business expands, which includes optimizing processes, developing policies, and leveraging automation to enable self-service infrastructure for our engineering partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in infrastructure management or platform engineering.

• Proficiency in automation, networking, and general IT infrastructure.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing and networking technologies.

• Comprehensive familiarity with VDI infrastructure, including a robust understanding of the networking, identity, storage, and compute dependencies essential for a successful VDI deployment.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex issues to non-technical personnel.

• Proficiency with the following technologies:

• Compute technologies: Azure VMs, EC2, VMware vSphere.

• Network security: Azure - VNets, NSG, AGW; AWS - VPC, TGW, Peering, SG, ALB, NLB; NextGen FW, VPN.

• Storage: Azure Files & Blob, Amazon S3, AWS FSX.

• Automation: Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, GitHub.

• Core technologies: Windows & Linux, DNS/IPAM, Active Directory.

• Observability tools: DataDog, CloudWatch, Azure Log Analytics, Aria.

• IAM: Azure Roles, AWS IAM.
