Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure and on-premises technologies.

• Design and maintain highly available, resilient, and disaster recovery-capable infrastructure environments.

• Develop and implement secure Azure networking solutions such as VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway / WAF.

• Deploy and maintain mission-critical applications utilizing Azure infrastructure services.

• Serve as the technical lead for customer onboarding, migration, and cloud infrastructure initiatives.

• Design, deploy, manage, and resolve issues in enterprise Linux and Windows server environments.

• Oversee Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and hybrid identity integrations.

• Deploy, manage, and support Kubernetes environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Support containerized environments through Docker and Kubernetes orchestration technologies.

• Manage Kubernetes cluster operations, including scaling, upgrades, patching, monitoring, ingress, storage, and security.

• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application deployments.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using Terraform, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Administer infrastructure monitoring and observability platforms such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Nagios.

• Support enterprise hosting technologies including backup, replication, storage, proxy, and load balancing solutions.

• Provide advanced L3 support for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Linux, networking, and storage platforms.

• Conduct infrastructure lifecycle management, including patching, capacity planning, and operational optimization.

• Engage in audits, disaster recovery testing, operational governance, and security compliance initiatives.

• Perform root cause analysis and promote long-term operational enhancements.

• Participate in after-hours support rotations and scheduled maintenance activities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 9 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Key Vault, Entra ID (Azure AD), Application Gateway / WAF, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway.

• Extensive experience supporting hybrid cloud and hybrid identity environments.

• In-depth hands-on Linux administration experience in enterprise production environments.

• Strong expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Significant hands-on experience in deploying, managing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments.

• Experience in supporting cloud-native architectures, microservices platforms, and container orchestration frameworks.

• Comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes ecosystem technologies such as Helm, RBAC, Ingress Controllers, Persistent Storage, Cluster Networking, and Monitoring & Logging integrations.

• Proficient scripting and automation skills using Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, ARM Templates, or Bicep.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Puppet, or Ansible.

• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, reverse proxy, HAProxy, and NGINX.

• Experience in implementing infrastructure hardening and security best practices in line with CIS and NIST frameworks.

• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability platforms.

• Preferred experience working with ITSM/ticketing platforms like ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Jira.

• Multi-cloud experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly preferred.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production operations environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across global teams.

• Customer-centric mindset with robust stakeholder management capabilities.

• Preferred certifications include: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), and AWS Solutions Architect certification is a plus.
