Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of hybrid cloud and virtualization infrastructures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

• Assist in the design, deployment, and upkeep of hybrid cloud infrastructures on both on-premises and commercial/government cloud platforms.

• Manage and enhance VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native virtualization technologies.

• Automate deployment processes, configurations, and resource provisioning utilizing Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

• Work collaboratively with cloud and infrastructure teams to facilitate integration efforts and ensure consistent enterprise solutions.

• Implement and maintain Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

• Monitor cloud and virtualization environments for availability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Diagnose infrastructure, application, and system issues; conduct root cause analysis and take corrective actions.

• Enforce security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation, while supporting RMF, NIST, and ISO 27001 compliance.

• Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines and automate the software development lifecycle.

• Configure and manage Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring and logging tools.

• Keep technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides up to date.

• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and program stakeholders to develop mission-aligned infrastructure solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or an equivalent qualification.

• Advanced cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.

• Active Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI platforms.

• Familiarity with hybrid cloud, IaaS, and PaaS solutions.

• Proficient in administering VMware ESXi and Hyper-V.

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation tools.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of IAM, encryption, network segmentation, RMF, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards.

• Experience in supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting languages.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or the ELK stack.

• Experience with SIEM and/or SOAR tools and capabilities.
