This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the clinical subject matter expert (SME) for product and project teams, offering guidance on clinical workflows, knowledge, and best practices for clinical data.
• Develop, construct, test, and refresh clinical data assets that provide support for clinical decisions and enhance clinical workflows, ensuring their ongoing precision, completeness, and clinical validity over time.
• Convert clinical requirements into workflow and informatics/data specifications, and verify that delivered features embody sound clinical reasoning.
• Examine clinical data to pinpoint gaps, inconsistencies, and potential improvements, and apply insights to refine decision support logic and automate workflows.
• Evaluate technical specifications for clinical workflow applications to provide clinical informatics input, and offer support as SME and IC for product managers overseeing clinical application products.
• Maintain and manage mappings to standardized clinical and medical vocabularies, facilitating interoperability and consistency across systems.
• Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders to ensure data-driven features are safe, user-friendly, and clinically relevant.
• Partner with clinical leadership to assist in guideline development, clinical content governance, and enhancements in quality and product offerings.
• Work closely with Quality and Clinical Training/Education teams to identify areas needing improvement for clinical workflows throughout the organization; collaboratively design and execute solutions.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• An active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., MD/DO, PharmD, NP, PA) and current board certification in the relevant clinical discipline are mandatory.
• Formal training in clinical informatics (e.g., graduate coursework, certification, or board certification in Clinical Informatics) is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience is required.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in clinical informatics, including data development, analysis, and maintenance.
• Strong familiarity with clinical workflows and experience working with multiple EHR systems.
• Proven clinical informatics experience, ideally in an environment that integrates clinical knowledge with data development to support clinical decision-making and workflows.
• High proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL is essential.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with FHIR, FHIR resource model, and FHIRpath syntax is required.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suite, Zoom, Zoho, Notion, Slack, and similar platforms.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with the capability to navigate complex clinical and data-modeling challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to serve as a bridge between clinical and technical audiences.
• Capacity to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
