This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Conduct research and input daily cash receipts into the appropriate receivable system.
• Assign payments to the correct customer accounts and policy transactions within set timelines.
• Reconcile remittances with accounts receivable balances and investigate any discrepancies.
• Review and resolve issues related to unapplied and unallocated cash items.
• Correct misapplied cash and manage cash transfers.
• Execute daily and monthly cash balancing tasks.
• Collaborate with collections and internal stakeholders to address premium and commission discrepancies, including both overpayments and underpayments.
• Address customer service inquiries via phone and email in accordance with service standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex cash application and account-related issues.
• Identify recurring problems and propose process enhancements.
• Document and update workflows, procedures, and changes in processes.
• Offer support and guidance to team members regarding cash application processes and best practices.
• Engage in special projects and undertake other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or general accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
• Experience in Property & Casualty insurance is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mathematical skills and keen attention to detail.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dedication to providing excellent customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
• An Associate’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to comply with departmental policies, procedures, and authority levels that support risk management controls.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with various teams.
• Experience in handling complex reconciliations and cash application challenges.
