This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Process and integrate customer data to facilitate the movement of goods across international borders.

• Act as a customer service representative between the company and its clients.

• Address billing inquiries, shipment tracking, and other customer-related issues.

• Cultivate strong relationships with customers.

• Manage Customs and PGA entries for the clearance of goods entering the United States.

• Open files and input notes, information, and document requests into corporate systems.

• Examine commercial invoices and documentation to ensure compliance with government and carrier regulations.

• Communicate information and document requests to employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. government agencies.

• Coordinate communication with various offices, departments, and teams regarding customs brokerage matters.

• Ensure adherence to U.S. government regulations, including those set by the FDA, EPA, and USFWS.

• Organize shipping details with forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and agents.

• Maintain ongoing communication with customers, carriers, and vendors.

• Oversee shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and CFS facilities to customer destinations.

• Arrange pickups and manage invoice files.

• Stay updated on regulations, laws, guidelines, and Deringer requirements.

• Serve as a resource for both internal and external clients.

• Accurately handle accounting processes in a timely manner.

• Respond to emails and phone calls professionally and promptly.

• Manage confidential information responsibly.

• Provide instruction to colleagues and suggest improvements to processes.

• Perform additional assigned duties as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Availability to work weekends, including at least one weekend day.

• Prior experience in customs brokerage.

• Capability to work a second shift schedule from either 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in processing Customs and PGA entries for the clearance of goods into the United States.

• Familiarity with client submission requirements and clearance of specific commodities.

• Ability to review commercial invoices and regulatory documentation effectively.

• Skill in converting and verifying shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency.

• Knowledge of U.S. government regulatory agencies, including the FDA, EPA, and USFWS.

• Competence in managing confidential information.

• Precision, thoroughness, and strong analytical and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage large workloads.
