Senior CAD Engineer, Lighting Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the engineering, mechanical design, development, prototyping, launch, and implementation of opto-mechanical components and systems.

• Collaborate with optical components, including lighting, cameras, or igniters.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams and align with other departments.

• Understand the requirements of different departments to ensure successful product integration.

• Travel to suppliers and assembly plants during the launch phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Advanced engineering experience in the automotive sector - 4+ years.

• Proven experience in design/development engineering of opto-mechanical devices with tight tolerances and high precision - Advanced (4+ years).

• Familiarity with plastics, glass, and common metals - Intermediate (4+ years).

• Knowledge of injection molding, plastic bonding processes, and lens manufacturing processes - Intermediate (4+ years).

• Experience with CATIA V5 and V6 (NX, Unigraphics is acceptable) - Advanced (4+ years).

• Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and other technical documents - Advanced (3+ years).

• Understanding of GD&T fundamentals - Intermediate (3-5 years).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Advanced (4+ years).

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles - Advanced (4+ years).

• Demonstrated understanding of the design process from initial conceptual phases to tooling launch and production - Advanced (4+ years).

• Ability to manage challenging projects within tight deadlines and budget constraints - Advanced (3+ years).

• Comprehension of optical principles - Intermediate (4+ years).

• Advanced English proficiency.

• Willingness to travel to suppliers and assembly plants during the launch phase.

• Valid U.S. visa and passport.
