Senior Business Systems Analyst – Insurance Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Identify the genuine business requirements underlying client requests, including issues, desired results, limitations, and business value.

• Constructively question suggested solutions when more effective alternatives are available.

• Examine product architecture, data models, business rules, algorithms, integrations, configuration options, and technical limitations.

• Create solutions that balance client requirements, implementation effort, maintainability, and the long-term vision of the product.

• Make autonomous decisions and communicate trade-offs to both clients and developers.

• Decide when specific client requests should evolve into reusable product features.

• Collaborate with developers and AI tools to evaluate options, verify assumptions, and enhance technical designs.

• Utilize SQL to analyze data, test hypotheses, resolve issues, and assist decision-making.

• Review and trace existing code to comprehend system behavior, identify root causes, and evaluate proposed modifications.

• Examine intricate workflows and algorithms, encompassing edge cases, dependencies, and failure scenarios.

• Establish acceptance criteria and formulate test plans.

• Conduct stakeholder demonstrations and solution discussions.

• Keep documentation focused on decisions, business rules, and system behavior up to date.

• Extensive experience in business and/or systems analysis for complex software products at a senior level.

• Strong logical reasoning and systems thinking abilities.

• Capability to decompose complex issues, track dependencies, and analyze edge cases.

• Skill to differentiate a client’s articulated solution from the fundamental business need.

• Confidence to constructively challenge requests and suggest superior solutions.

• Strong product judgment that balances client requirements with product consistency, scalability, and long-term vision.

• Ability to make decisions with partial information while clarifying assumptions and risks.

• Determination to pursue problems throughout business processes, data, configurations, integrations, and code.

• Ability to articulate necessary changes and justify why a proposed approach is superior to alternatives.

• Confidence in taking responsibility for solution-related decisions.

• Experience in using SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.

• Technical understanding adequate to read and trace existing code and comprehend system behavior.

• Proficient spoken and written English skills.
