Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create and develop data models that align with analytics and reporting requirements, data sources, and mapping specifications.

• Utilize advanced analytics tools such as Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI to build programs and code that visualize data and provide insights derived from complex transformation and mapping specifications.

• Offer technical thought leadership regarding BI tools and analytical concepts throughout analytics, reporting, and dashboard initiatives.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to execute system projects, focusing on planning, resource management, and deliverables.

• Diagnose and address data and reporting challenges employing advanced problem-solving techniques.

• Provide estimates of effort for new project initiatives, enhancements, and fixes.

• Assist in the transition of our current data lake to a new cloud platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 2 years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, encompassing interactive dashboards, QlikView, Tableau, NoSQL, and big data technologies.

• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, with practical experience in designing large databases and data warehouses (both logical and physical design) within a team setting.

• Demonstrated experience throughout the entire BI solution lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation, utilizing data warehouse/data mart design, ETL, and client/server applications.

• Experience in drafting technical and functional design documents (TDD, FSD), test plans, gap analyses, and source-to-target mappings across Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

• Strong skills in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.

• Familiarity with Python, Scala, and open-source data tools is preferred.

• Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, GitLab, and GitHub is preferred.

• Experience with systems in the wholesale and/or retail industry, including procurement, merchandising, finance, warehousing, and retail operations is preferred.
