Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Analyze and prepare documentation for requirements, which includes defining functional business requirements, business rules, data definitions, data transformations, end-user reporting, and semantic layers.

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions, semantic layers, and data products.

• Examine large datasets to identify trends, profile and validate data, and generate insights for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Work alongside Data Science teams to develop models and advanced analytics.

• Advocate for data governance, uphold quality standards, and ensure consistent data definitions.

• Act as a subject matter expert and authority on data across various domains and strategic initiatives.

• Provide consultative insights to stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Maintain data definitions, metadata, and documentation of data lineage.

• Uphold data governance standards, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

• Lead initiatives to identify and rectify data quality issues.

• Serve as the primary contact for any data-related issues, determine the root cause, and chart the course for resolution.

• Conduct stakeholder meetings and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with various business units and external partners.

• Facilitate training sessions at user forums, governed data sources, and tools, and contribute to the development of user education materials.

• Manage multiple priorities effectively while engaging with senior management, staff, clients, and vendors, including delivering in-person or virtual presentations.

• Serve as a consultant on best practices for data, architecture, and process enhancements.

• Provide coaching and mentoring, overseeing team members' work to ensure proper adherence to processes.

• Manage the processes involved in data loading.

• Spearhead process improvements for all core data quality processes, ensuring simplicity, speed, quality, and efficiency.

• Exhibit strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to negotiate and influence others.

• Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and work independently to advance projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• A Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or Business Administration is preferred.

• At least 7 years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Business Analyst role, emphasizing data analysis, trend identification, and insight delivery.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the payments sector.

• A minimum of 2 years of project management experience, including leading cross-functional initiatives and managing timelines and deliverables.

• Advanced expertise in BI tools, with a preference for Strategy (e.g., SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).

• More than 5 years of experience writing SQL queries, with proficiency in Python being an added advantage.

• At least 3 years in project management or business consulting, translating business needs into data solutions.

• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools.

• Practical knowledge of Agile methodology.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other teams and senior leadership.

• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficient in stakeholder engagement, consensus building, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Understanding of machine learning concepts and data architecture.

• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and the payments industry.
