Senior Business Immigration Case Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Facilitate case strategy meetings, client engagement activities, town hall gatherings, and legal seminars offered to clients.

• Evaluate immigration petitions prepared by Paralegals and Senior Paralegals, identifying and assisting in resolving any current or potential issues.

• Assist attorneys and other senior personnel in developing training initiatives for legal staff; updating Firm processes, procedures, and technologies, and undertaking additional initiatives as necessary.

• Supervise the effective distribution of cases to Paralegal and Senior Paralegal staff to maintain a fair and balanced workload within the team.

• Aid the team in drafting case documents, statutory forms, and template letters of support, adhering to strict deadlines for various NIVs and PERM applications (from start to finish), including petitions for key accounts and enterprise clients.

• Produce reports on visa processing metrics for internal assessment and client feedback.

• Exercise discretion, experience, and decision-making skills to identify and address issues related to case preparation for attorney review when required.

• Ensure that client needs are met, and keep the team informed of any changes in communication and protocols as they occur.

• Provide training, guidance, updates, and mentoring to Paralegals and Senior Paralegals as necessary.

• Participate in weekly docket calls and assist in preparing agendas for any visa processing-related client calls and updates, while identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Support overall operations with a focus on efficiency and productivity.

• Address general ad-hoc requests as needed by attorney(s) and senior staff.

• Utilize the online immigration case tracking system to monitor case status and activities on a daily basis.

• Foster and exemplify positive team morale, even in a remote work environment.

• Ensure that SLA requirements for all assigned clients are consistently met, remaining accountable for the deliverables of all relevant legal team members.

• Assist with responsibilities related to client program management as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree is highly desirable.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal, drafting employment-based petitions, including for more complex cases and/or high-profile/enterprise clientele.

• Preferred experience in drafting petitions for various NIV cases such as H1B, L, TN, O-1, etc., and/or experience with drafting green card processes (I-140 and AOS), as well as end-to-end PERM applications.

• Experienced in allocating cases to team members and leading, motivating, and training less experienced team members.

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word).

• A genuine interest in U.S. immigration, with a commitment to treating clients and foreign nationals with respect and an empathetic approach.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including spelling and grammar.

• High attention to detail to ensure work accuracy.

• Ability to follow established processes, templates, and adapt to evolving innovations within the Firm and the industry.

• Excellent organizational skills to meet strict deadlines while prioritizing case loads.

• Strong computer literacy and adaptability to advanced Envoy case processing software for monitoring and recording all visa petitions.
