Senior Business Development Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Build collaborative relationships with agencies and producers to gain insights into the marketplace.

• Assess complex business scenarios for risk acceptability, aligning pricing with exposure, loss frequency, and severity to ensure profitability.

• Oversee a profitable and expanding portfolio of business.

• Track production metrics and quality of assigned producers.

• Promote the profitable sale of the Company's offerings.

• Enhance the assigned producer group to boost both the quality and volume of business acquired.

• Stay vigilant to changes within the industry.

• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.

• Provide production assistance through visits to producers.

• Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering collaborative relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in underwriting is required; 7 years is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• Proven track record in servicing the Company’s clients and establishing and maintaining relationships with production sources.

• Demonstrated sales ability and effective relationship management skills.

• Capability to apply fundamental to advanced underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as submissions, loss control reports, and standard policy forms/endorsements.

• Ability to lead special projects.

• Competence to mentor and train both professional and support staff.
