
Senior Business Development Director, Micronization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Assess and evaluate opportunities for contract development and manufacturing in the micronization sector with clients.
• Identify, negotiate, and secure new business for development, technology transfer, and commercial supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) micronization.
• Cultivate and manage relationships to expand business with current clients.
• Build robust relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and identify potential new clients.
• Prepare thoroughly for calls and visits, anticipating and resolving potential obstacles.
• Document and validate customer requirements prior to proposing solutions.
• Create and present quotations for project development to clients.
• Collaborate with management, commercial operations, legal, and finance teams in the preparation and negotiation of development and all commercial supply agreements.
• Oversee business relationships with designated clients, including pricing, contract renewals/amendments, and demand forecasting.
• A BA/BS degree in a scientific discipline, business, or a related field (MS, MBA, or Ph.D. is preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience in business development/sales, preferably with a scientific/technical background in pharmaceutical contract service sales (CDMO), API manufacturing, and the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences sectors.
• Familiarity with the proposal development process, business quotations, budgeting, and managing timelines is essential.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required, with experience in Salesforce.com being a plus.
• The ability to collaborate effectively as part of cross-functional teams is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with scientists and technical personnel from both clients and the Catalent organization are required.
• A demonstrated history of successfully penetrating new accounts is required.
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities effectively are necessary.
• Must be willing and capable of traveling up to 50% of the time.
