Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead the analysis and exploration of intricate business scenarios, customer challenges, and product requirements.

• Create new features and enhancements by developing functional specifications, workflows, process flows, mockups or wireframes, and acceptance criteria.

• Evaluate business impacts, backward compatibility, dependencies, data risks, and integration risks; propose solutions and negotiate scope and priorities.

• Break down initiatives into technical user stories and development tasks; coordinate implementation details and ensure requirements traceability.

• Offer functional expertise across distribution workflows, including Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing, Inventory Management, pricing, freight, tax, and associated financial processes.

• Analyze and document data flows and integration requirements between Acumatica and external industry systems; develop mapping or API specifications.

• Collaborate with developers, QA, automated testing engineers, technical writers, support teams, implementation groups, and external partners.

• Formulate test plans and scenarios; execute acceptance testing, validate outcomes, and confirm corrected defects.

• Drive functional readiness for User Acceptance Testing, releases, deployments, customer demonstrations, user training, and support after go-live.

• Examine escalated support issues, assist in root-cause analysis, maintain documentation, and pinpoint opportunities for product and process improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be taken into account.

• Over 5 years of experience in business or system analysis, ERP functional consulting, or product analysis.

• Experience in managing complex or cross-functional initiatives and crafting functional specifications and workflow diagrams.

• At least 4 years of experience in one or more distribution domains: Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing, Inventory Management, or E-commerce.

• Capability to lead the requirements lifecycle from discovery through design, development, testing, and release.

• Proficiency in translating business requirements into technical user stories with acceptance criteria, process flows, and mockups or wireframes.

• Experience collaborating directly with developers, quality teams, and business users, including coordinating acceptance testing and validating functionality.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills in English.

• Strong ability to work independently, manage several high-priority initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and provide functional guidance or peer review.

• Quality-focused mindset with curiosity, capability to model user behavior, identify application flaws, and rapidly learn new concepts.

• Availability to primarily work within the Eastern Time Zone, with some flexibility based on project requirements.

• Preferred: experience with Acumatica or another modern cloud ERP platform; Acumatica badges are advantageous.

• Preferred: knowledge of fuel distribution, logistics, downstream energy operations, or related workflows.

• Preferred: familiarity with ERP integrations, APIs, web services, REST, SOAP, SQL, JSON, or XML.

• Preferred: understanding of financial and accounting workflows, fuel pricing, freight management, excise tax, reporting, or multi-entity operations.

• Preferred: experience in Agile product development using Jira, Confluence, and Moqups or similar wireframing tools.
