This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• The Senior Manager of Budget is responsible for overseeing all tasks related to the creation and management of comprehensive budgets for global clinical trials spanning phases I-IV, supporting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contracts.
• Generate competitive, high-quality global full-service budgets for clinical trials in phases I-IV to assist with RFPs and contracts.
• Represent the organization during sponsor meetings to review and negotiate budget proposals.
• Lead the entire budget development process from RFP to contract signing, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders for input, approval, and finalization.
• Work closely with proposal writers and contract managers to ensure consistency between budgetary figures, documentation, and contract terms.
• Identify potential delays, evaluate obstacles to progress, and implement efficient solutions and corrective actions as necessary.
• Mentor and provide training to new and/or junior team members.
• Initiate team projects that enhance efficiency and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Conduct quality checks for team members on internal and final client-facing deliverables for complex budgets and contracts.
• Assist with updates to the budget tool as assigned.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, science, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in developing and managing global full-service budgets for clinical trials in phases I-IV.
• Experience in Central Nervous System (CNS) studies is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of the intricate operational components related to Phase I-IV clinical research, particularly within a Contract Research Organization that provides global full services, is vital.
• Demonstrated ability to translate protocol requirements, operational strategies, and RFP details into effective pricing models.
• In-depth understanding of clinical trial cost components (per-patient fees, site expenses, pass-throughs, timelines, resourcing assumptions) and budget frameworks that support contracts and sponsor negotiations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven capacity to perform quality control and validate complex budgets.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including experience with mapping client bid grids and utilizing complex formulas, alongside strong financial acumen.
• Advanced proficiency in SharePoint and other Microsoft Suite applications, including Copilot.
• Excellent leadership and teamwork abilities, along with outstanding critical thinking skills and the capability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to excel under pressure while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across all management levels.
