This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with all relevant teams to draft, finalize, and secure approval for coverage analyses and budgets while monitoring all pertinent data metrics.
• Evaluate coding and charge determinations alongside the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team.
• Input and/or review financial information in OnCore and initiate the approval process for the OnCore calendar/financial console.
• Conduct a thorough assessment of each project to verify funding sources and negotiate consistently in line with institutional policies.
• Execute detailed analyses of existing budgets to set precedent pricing and enhance budget development strategies.
• Evaluate the comparable nature of projects based on factors such as study phase or disease type to ensure accurate costing.
• Review new protocols, letters of intent, synopses, etc., received from sponsors, review committees, or the PI/study teams to determine the necessity for coverage analysis/budget and/or prioritization in collaboration with departmental leadership.
• Engage with sponsor representatives to address budgetary concerns such as changes in budget, target patient accrual modifications, requests for additional funding, or general cost disagreements.
• Assemble non-detailed budget estimates using internal estimation tools, as required and in accordance with sponsor guidelines.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors when detailed estimates are necessary.
• Perform regular reviews of study files to guarantee administrative quality, compliance, and consistency across clinical trials.
• Assess protocol amendments for any changes that affect the budget; update budgets as needed or re-prioritize for further development by a third-party vendor.
• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six years of specialized experience in oncology clinical research budget development and negotiation and/or coverage analysis development.
• Background in research administration, a Contract Research Organization, the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, academic medical center, or a clinical practice setting.
• Familiarity with HCPCS / CPT codes.
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations, guidelines, and policies.
