This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive financial crimes investigations across a varied cannabis client portfolio.

• Act as a subject matter expert on FinCEN guidance, state-level MRB regulations, and cannabis banking typologies.

• Monitor and investigate AML alerts generated across several program partners.

• Perform due diligence and continuous monitoring of cannabis clients, including risk assessments.

• Prepare marijuana-specific SAR reports for partners in line with FinCEN guidance, differentiating between limited, priority, and termination filings.

• Assist in the development and calibration of transaction-monitoring rules tailored to specific typologies.

• Oversee the complete onboarding and ongoing monitoring of Cannabis Related Businesses, including cannabis-specific reviews, license verifications, and beneficial ownership analysis.

• Conduct regular reviews of CRB accounts, validating cash deposits, sales activity, and transaction patterns consistent with licensed operations.

• Support partner bank regulatory examinations and internal/external audits; prepare materials and address examiner inquiries.

• Monitor and investigate alerts related to negative news, OFAC and PEP screening, and license violations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of BSA/AML compliance experience; experience in fintech and cannabis banking is a plus.

• Proven experience in filing marijuana-related SARs under FinCEN’s MRB guidance framework.

• Demonstrated understanding of BaaS compliance models, including the flow of AML obligations between partner programs.

• Familiarity with AML transaction-monitoring, compliance, and case management platforms such as Abrigo BAM+, LexisNexis, and Salesforce.

• Capable of reviewing state cannabis license data, interpreting the operational structures of dispensaries, cultivators, and processors, and assessing their alignment with banking activities.

• CAMS certification is an asset.
