This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collaborate with representatives from various functions to strategize, implement, and evaluate biomarker components, including genomics, of clinical or biomarker studies.
• Act as the project biomarker statistician under the mentorship of a seasoned statistician.
• Create Biomarker Evaluation Plans for studies.
• Contribute statistical insights in clinical development discussions and utilize AI and ML methodologies.
• Organize and oversee statistical operations for biomarker research and development.
• Design and perform advanced analyses of genomics and biomarker data.
• Execute statistical programming and develop intricate analysis algorithms.
• Manage RNA, Olink, and additional biomarker datasets.
• Generate precise Biomarker Evaluation Reports and interpret the findings.
• Proactively address both routine and complex statistical inquiries, modeling, and tasks.
• Establish and apply standardized procedures for routine biomarker evaluations.
• PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
• Minimal supervision needed.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Robust understanding of ML algorithms and statistical techniques, including survival analysis and batch-effect correction, and their use in pharmaceutical or biomarker discovery.
• Familiarity with explainable AI concepts, including SHAP, attention attribution, and counterfactuals.
• Knowledge of uncertainty quantification for enhancing biomarker interpretability.
• Prior experience in independently leading a biomarker study.
• Previous clinical trial exposure is preferred.
• Industry experience is preferred.
• Strong expertise in biomarker evaluation, particularly in immunology and infections, type I diabetes, relevant parameters, and underlying biological mechanisms.
• Proficient in statistical programming languages such as R, Bioconductor, relevant R packages for genetic data, and Python.
• Experience in analyzing high-dimensional datasets.
