Senior BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and sustain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.

• Develop and oversee SSRS reports, subscriptions, and data-driven delivery solutions.

• Create, maintain, and enhance SSIS packages for data integration and transformation.

• Support and advance data warehouse architecture to ensure scalability and performance.

• Enhance SQL Server performance using indexing strategies, query optimization, and maintenance tasks.

• Implement business logic into AI-powered workflows and agent-based systems.

• Collaborate with AI and data teams to develop conversational BI interfaces.

• Ensure data quality, observability, and consistency across BI layers.

• Effectively communicate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in advanced SQL Server and T-SQL (including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning).

• Strong background in SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI (including DAX and semantic modeling).

• Comprehensive understanding of data warehousing concepts (Kimball methodology, star schemas, SCDs).

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Snowflake.

• Programming skills in Python and/or C#.

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
