• Develops advanced benefit design and renewal strategies while spearheading the creation of solutions to tackle intricate client challenges.
• Collaborates closely with the account management and/or client service teams on pre-renewal strategies, RFP distribution, SPRs, open enrollment strategies, and post-renewal analysis.
• Defines the comprehensive range of services to be offered to clients.
• Clearly sets and communicates timelines with the client service team(s) and keeps them informed of any changes and renewal updates.
• Holds accountability for the revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects while keeping all stakeholders informed.
• Evaluates the success of projects in terms of scope, budget, timelines, and client satisfaction.
• Manages the onboarding process for new clients by collaborating with client service team(s) to establish the implementation plan, team, and timeline.
• Ensures that client service team(s) surpass client expectations.
• Expands the client portfolio through cross-selling opportunities.
• Fosters and maintains robust relationships with clients and carriers.
• Establishes effective relationships with carriers/vendors to assist clients in benefits procurement and administration.
• Participates in carrier events to stay informed about carrier plans and changes, while also maintaining strong relationships.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks, and benefit plan options.
• Ensures the accuracy of client data within the CRM.
• Remains well-informed on compliance matters governed by legislation and regulations affecting employer-sponsored health and welfare plans, such as HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code SEC 125, PPACA, and state-sponsored health insurance exchanges.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in benefits consulting, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Must possess current and comprehensive knowledge of Health Care Reform and health and ancillary insurance products.
• Practical knowledge of the quoting process and tools is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with database applications is required.
