This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct the design and implementation of integrated DDC control systems for HVAC, lighting, energy management, and various building systems.
• Develop system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, control panel designs, and operational sequences.
• Ensure that designs adhere to project specifications, building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Specify and select controllers, sensors, actuators, and additional components.
• Analyze and enhance engineering processes to boost efficiency, reduce design cycle times, and maintain design consistency.
• Create and uphold standard operating procedures, templates, and design libraries.
• Identify and integrate tools and technologies that improve design quality and productivity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process enhancements.
• Partner with project engineers, managers, and clients to collect requirements and convert them into actionable designs.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers concerning component compatibility, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Act as a liaison between design, project management, and installation teams.
• Conduct comprehensive system design reviews.
• Execute value engineering to enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including submittals, as-built drawings, and system narratives.
• Assist implementation teams by troubleshooting design-related issues during installation and commissioning.
• Stay updated on DDC technologies, building automation trends, and engineering best practices.
• Introduce innovative solutions to enhance functionality, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
• Contribute to the company’s strategic growth and leadership in DDC systems design.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing DDC control systems.
• Proven history of successfully leading projects.
• Proficient in building automation protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, control panel design, and applicable building codes.
• Expertise in CAD software and controls design tools.
• Experience in process improvement methodologies is desirable.
• Demonstrated capacity to implement process enhancements and streamline engineering workflows.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
