Senior Backend Software Engineer, Integrations Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical strategy and direction for essential platform surface areas.

• Design and enhance APIs, primitives, and self-service golden paths for internal teams, partners, and customers.

• Oversee authentication, data ingestion, and schema evolution primitives for secure and dependable integrations.

• Develop secure, well-documented, and scalable backend services and developer tools, including CI/CD pipelines.

• Promote performance, operational excellence, and best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Make and justify buy-vs-build decisions and one-way-door choices.

• Mentor and elevate teammates while establishing standardized design patterns.

• Utilize TypeScript, React, and Node.js, and leverage AI tools to expedite development and workflows.

• Create sample integrations, proofs of concept (POCs), AI Skills, documentation, and workshops to empower internal engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of backend development experience in building reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

• Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and authentication protocols such as OAuth, API keys, and JWT.

• Familiarity with security best practices.

• Experience in evolving core APIs, SDKs, and platform abstractions.

• Proven experience in building resilient data ingestion processes from external systems.

• Background in integrations involving cloud providers, HRIS platforms, identity providers, and code repositories.

• Understanding of rate limiting, retries, idempotency, webhooks, and schema drift management.

• Capability to design for scalability, reliability, and potential failure modes.

• Experience in leading teams and complex projects while influencing decisions across organizations.

• Ability to generate sample integrations, proofs of concept (POCs), AI Skills, documentation, and workshops.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

• Willingness to utilize AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and impact.
