Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to develop features and enhancements.

• Enhance our API and backend systems.

• Directly interact with our PostgreSQL cluster.

• Contribute to and refine our testing environment.

• Tackle challenges related to architecture, security, anti-fraud measures, performance, scalability, personalization, optimization, payments, and more.

• Serve as a supportive and constructive presence within the team, engaging in code reviews and various team processes.

• Stay informed about the latest trends in server-side development technologies.

• Mentor and guide other engineers in your areas of expertise.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively across different technical and product teams.

• Participate in an on-call rotation.

• Utilize LLMs, when relevant, to enhance the product and streamline development workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of engineering experience.

• Proven experience in building, maintaining, or architecting one or more live web applications.

• Strong knowledge and viewpoints on API design, database design, naming conventions, and simplifying complex services.

• Familiarity with operational aspects such as deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning.

• Professional experience with the technologies relevant to our work (Ruby on Rails with Sorbet, PostgreSQL, AWS).
