Senior Backend Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, starting from feasibility analysis, solution design, through to the development and deployment of assigned applications.

• Ensure adherence to development processes, best practices, and standards to deliver a high-quality product.

• Foster innovation and ongoing enhancement in architecture, tools, and development methodologies.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.

• Take the lead in the development lifecycle responsibilities: Assess business requirements.

• Confirm the technical viability of UI/UX concepts.

• Offer development time estimates based on a defined scope.

• Design and architect solutions effectively.

• Create technical specifications and documentation.

• Implement solutions by coding features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

• Develop, debug, write unit tests, conduct quality assurance, and provide support.

• Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

• Enhance system performance based on insights from monitoring tools.

• Conduct code reviews to maintain quality and standards.

• Engage in database design and development activities.

• Manage the development pipeline from development to production through automation.

• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies or a hybrid software development lifecycle.

• Utilize Azure Cloud Services, including Functions, Service Bus, Containers, and App Configuration.

• Optimize database structures and queries for efficient storage and retrieval of spatial data (e.g., PostGIS).

• Provide technical leadership and support on development tasks for junior developers.

• Execute other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of back-end or full-stack development experience.

• Proven experience collaborating with a team of software developers.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Proven capability to learn and master new technologies quickly.

• At least 4 years of experience in Microservices - C# .NET 6/7/8, Entity Framework Core, Rest API, with preference for Fast Endpoints experience.

• Experience in Database Development – PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or equivalent RDBMS.

• Familiarity with Event Driven Architecture.

• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD solutions.

• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices orchestration (AKS/Kubernetes).

• Understanding of caching strategies (Redis or similar).

• Experience with observability tools for logging, monitoring, and tracing.

• Proficient in Azure Cloud services.

• Experience with Function apps.

• Familiarity with Azure Service Bus.

• Knowledge of Azure App Configuration.

• Experience with Application Insights.

• Preferably knowledgeable about Okta/Auth0.

• Familiarity with Unit Test Frameworks such as xUnit.

• Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools.
