Senior Backend Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test backend applications and services utilizing Java, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Create, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure.

• Collaborate directly with clients to gather requirements, offer technical suggestions, and communicate project progress and trade-offs.

• Work alongside engineers on software architecture, APIs, and microservices.

• Write unit tests and adhere to test-driven development methodologies.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications in collaboration with product managers and stakeholders.

• Enhance application performance, scalability, and security.

• Identify and resolve software issues across the stack, including live client environments.

• Manage client expectations and priorities across several concurrent projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Direct experience working with clients is required.

• Proficient programming skills in Java and Node.js.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational database design.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL/Storage, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.

• Proficiency in Git and other version control systems.

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

• Strong client management, communication, and teamwork skills; capable of presenting technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

• Understanding of contemporary DevOps principles.

• Must be based in the USA, working Eastern or Central Standard Time.

• Must not require EAD, OPT, or H1B authorization.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
