Senior Backend Engineer – UA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete lifecycle of innovative, large-scale Java/Spring-based products, including design, development, quality assurance, deployment, maintenance, and support, while ensuring high standards and compliance with best development practices.

• Convert software requirements into maintainable solutions that align with existing application frameworks.

• Collaborate with the wider tech community to stay informed about emerging technologies and integrate them into current workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of product development experience in a software engineering position at a technology company.

• Extensive and in-depth experience with Java and Spring / Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of SQL, REST/JSON APIs, and event-driven architectures (such as Kafka or similar).

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Linux in a production environment.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; skilled at deconstructing complex issues.

• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.

• Practical experience utilizing AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow and developing lightweight automation around them (custom prompts, scripts, CI integrations, agent-driven workflows) to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
