Senior Backend Engineer, TypeScript, AWS Serverless

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• You will be engaged in the backend development of a trading platform located in Amsterdam, playing a key role in system architecture design, technical decision-making, and the advancement of a serverless AWS-based infrastructure.

• The work environment is dynamic and deliberately ambiguous — the ideal candidate will provide structure and technical clarity instead of waiting for it.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior or lead-level experience in TypeScript backend development, delivering production-grade solutions in complex environments.

• Strong practical experience with AWS Serverless architecture, particularly with AWS Lambda and AWS CDK.

• Familiarity with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL database systems.

• Ability to design and discuss system architecture at a high level — not only implement but also shape and direct technical strategy.

• Demonstrated ability to assess technical trade-offs and suggest well-founded alternatives.

• Confidence to constructively challenge assumptions and enhance outcomes through technical discussions.

• Capability to work independently in uncertain environments where requirements change and clarity must be established.

• Knowledge of TypeSpec or comparable API specification tools.

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher — essential for collaboration with the client team based in Amsterdam.

• Residing in Portugal and available for fully remote work.
