
Senior Backend Engineer, Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Create new functionalities for a workflow and automation engine developed in Rust.
• Revise existing components and assist in enhancing the architecture.
• Engage in integrations with backend services, APIs, a Django application, LLM-based services, and other platform elements.
• Contribute to services that involve asynchronous processing, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Take part in technical discussions, solution design, planning, and code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with the current engineering team through meetings, Slack, and daily communication.
• Clarify requirements and suggest solutions when tasks lack full definition.
• Own projects from initial discussions through implementation and delivery.
• Potentially assist with other services or programming languages within the platform as necessary.
• Aid in delivering roadmap initiatives and enhancing platform architecture and reliability.
• Strong professional experience in backend software development.
• Solid production experience with Rust.
• Familiarity with asynchronous and concurrent programming.
• Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, backend services, or workflow engines.
• Ability to work independently while requirements are evolving.
• Active involvement in meetings, technical discussions, and team decision-making.
• Interest in functioning as an integrated team member rather than solely through assigned tickets.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with the capability to engage comfortably in meetings and technical conversations.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to services developed in programming languages other than Rust.
