Senior Backend Engineer, Python, AI, EdTech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and advancement of our backend architecture, including microservices, event-driven systems, AWS serverless, and data pipelines.

• Lead technical decisions and uphold best practices regarding code quality, security, and scalability.

• Guide and assist backend developers by reviewing their code and fostering their professional growth.

• Create and develop robust APIs and data flows that support AI-driven language learning features.

• Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to translate cutting-edge AI models into practical educational experiences.

• Identify technical risks, suggest solutions, and find a balance between swift execution and long-term scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend engineering, specifically with Python 3.8 or higher.

• Demonstrated success in system design, architecture, and scaling distributed systems.

• Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Celery.

• Practical experience with microservices and the AWS serverless stack, including Lambda, SQS/SNS, and EventBridge.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, observability, and security.

• Experience in mentoring developers or leading technical projects.

• Proficiency in English, as we operate across more than 15 countries.
