Senior Backend Engineer, Platform Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance reusable backend platforms and tools for performance evaluation and analysis.

• Develop self-service workflows, comprehensive documentation, templates, diagnostics, and artificial intelligence capabilities to minimize the need for custom support.

• Implement development methodologies that leverage artificial intelligence to expedite implementation, testing, debugging, and technical documentation processes.

• Guide engineering teams in integrating performance testing into standard development and release workflows.

• Transform initial hands-on engagements into generalized capabilities for widespread adoption by multiple teams.

• Offer technical guidance for complex performance inquiries, tooling advancements, and new platform features.

• Empower modular feature teams, including Orbit and Artifact Registry, to conduct performance testing within their own development and continuous integration processes.

• Enhance performance results, reporting, and trend visibility, enabling teams to make data-driven decisions based on their own evidence.

• Develop documentation, templates, and guidance necessary to promote self-service adoption throughout research and development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building backend or platform software.

• Experience in developing internal platforms or tools aimed at developers.

• Collaboration experience with development teams to streamline their daily workflows.

• Familiarity with development practices that incorporate artificial intelligence throughout the software lifecycle.

• Knowledge of software performance aspects, including performance analysis, optimization, benchmarking, or spearheading performance-related enhancements.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, k6, and cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.

• Ability to create robust solutions that facilitate broad adoption through systems thinking.

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
