Senior Backend Engineer – m/w/d

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• As a vital member of the engineering team, you will share responsibility for the development and management of our broker service, finanzen.net zero.

• Collaborate within an agile team that interacts with various internal departments, including business units, IT, marketing, support, and operations.

• Partner with the team to enhance our platform, utilizing Java and Spring Boot in a cloud-based setting (AWS).

• Alongside your team, you will take ownership of our platform and serve as the primary contact for business units regarding 3rd-level support inquiries.

• Continuously monitor our systems and operational dashboards, oversee end-of-day processing from the banking system, and manage the execution of customer securities orders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in the development and operation of cloud-based backend applications (preferably AWS) using Java, Spring Boot, and REST.

• Strong understanding of the trading, brokerage, and banking sectors, ideally with experience in securities settlement, order management, and end-of-day processing.

• Familiarity with AI tools and a desire to incorporate them into daily development practices.

• Knowledge of MySQL or comparable relational, transaction-oriented databases is advantageous.

• A self-sufficient, organized, and goal-oriented approach to work.

• Practical experience with agile methodologies such as SCRUM/Kanban, along with familiarity with tools like JIRA and Confluence.

• Strong analytical skills combined with strategic and process-driven thinking and actions.

• Proactive communication skills and the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback.

• Proficient in German, both written and spoken, with a minimum proficiency level of C1.
