Senior Backend Engineer – Lodging and Cars

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Implement comprehensive technical integrations with external lodging providers, car services, and GDS partners while navigating intricate communication protocols and distributed data schemas.

• Develop clean and efficient code in Scala or other JVM languages to maintain, enhance, and uphold stringent engineering standards for mission-critical lodging services.

• Investigate and troubleshoot complex existing codebases to delve into infrastructure and resolve production issues within a distributed system environment.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Operations to translate business requirements into technical tasks and provide estimates for delivery timelines.

• Assume complete responsibility for the development lifecycle of new product features, from initial technical implementation and testing to deployment in production.

• Aid in designing highly resilient, low-latency services to guarantee a seamless booking experience for customers during peak loads.

• Engage in comprehensive code reviews and pinpoint opportunities to enhance scalability, performance, and overall system health.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Scala or other JVM languages, such as Java or Kotlin, with an emphasis on creating scalable, high-throughput services.

• A demonstrated history of managing the technical implementation, testing, and deployment of features within a microservices architecture.

• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and service communication methodologies including gRPC, Pub/Sub, and REST.

• The capability to quickly adapt and manage technical ambiguity by independently investigating and executing technical plans within the existing infrastructure.

• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote-first setting.
