Senior Backend Engineer, Java – Spring Boot 3, GCP, Azure, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create: Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot 3 on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Feature Ownership: Assume full responsibility for the entire development lifecycle of new platform features, including technical design, requirement clarification with product and support teams, as well as testing and deployment.

• Complex Problem Solving: Engage deeply with business logic, address challenging API integrations for Shopify, and develop solutions that deliver significant value to our customers in the accounting and e-commerce sectors.

• Reliability Assurance: Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance production environments to guarantee that our platform operates efficiently and reliably.

• Collaboration & Mentorship: Take part in code reviews, impart your knowledge to the team, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, demonstrating a strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.

• Familiarity with AI Coding Tools and a proactive approach to promoting AI Adoption within our development processes.

• Structured Thinking: You are adept at deconstructing complex problems, clarifying requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and crafting clean, well-architected solutions.

• API Proficiency: Extensive experience in designing and utilizing Shopify GraphQL APIs, including intricate third-party integrations.

• Cloud Expertise: Practical experience in building and deploying applications on cloud platforms, particularly GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, PubSub, etc.).

• Strong Problem-Solving Abilities: Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. You are comfortable navigating uncertainty and identifying the root causes of issues.

• Excellent Collaboration Skills: You communicate effectively and thrive in a team-oriented environment. You have experience with Git, continuous deployment pipelines (such as Gitlab), and agile methodologies like monthly scope planning and regular code reviews.
