This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead: Collaborate with the team to identify, define, and advance high-impact projects that are in line with Reddit’s objectives.
• Construct: Implement a strategy to develop a more efficient, scalable, and high-quality architecture surrounding authentication, authorization, and identity management.
• Enhance: Guide, mentor, and work alongside other technical contributors.
• Cooperate: Engage with various cross-functional teams throughout Reddit Engineering.
• Progress: Continuously learn and refine both your technical and non-technical skills.
• Over 5 years of experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed backend systems, with a minimum of 2 years dedicated to security-sensitive areas (IAM, Security, Privacy, or Anti-Abuse).
• Technical knowledge of fundamental identity concepts, authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML), session management, and/or authorization access models (ABAC, RBAC, ReBAC), as well as centralized authorization engines.
• Strong proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (preferably Go).
• Experience with (or a desire to learn about) essential cloud infrastructures (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP).
• Proven track record of identifying and leading high-impact projects that align with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Exceptional empathy and strong communication skills to foster collaboration across the organization.
