Senior Backend Engineer, Go – Continuous Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and create features for the CD platform that are secure, thoroughly tested, and high-performing, emphasizing distributed systems architecture using Go.

• Assume full responsibility for features from design through implementation, code review, deployment, and iterative enhancement.

• Engage in architectural decisions on a new codebase, collaborating with the Engineering Manager and Principal Engineer to evaluate feasibility and scope.

• Promote product quality, security, and performance enhancements that have a significant impact across the team, and help establish standards through active code reviews.

• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering their growth and helping to eliminate obstacles to their independence.

• Work alongside cross-functional partners — including Product Management, UX, and adjacent engineering teams — to fulfill product commitments.

• Participate in on-call rotations to assist with troubleshooting and urgent engineering challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in building backend services using Go, leveraging Go best practices in production settings.

• Proven track record in designing and constructing scalable, distributed systems, especially those involving durable workflow execution, state persistence, and replay patterns.

• Experience in building or contributing to release orchestration, deployment automation, or continuous delivery systems at scale.

• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production, including deploying and managing services across various environments.

• Understanding of Kubernetes deployment patterns and progressive delivery strategies, such as blue/green and canary deployments.

• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and related tools within that ecosystem.

• Experience with event-driven architectures and policy-based governance for developing reliable, enterprise-grade delivery systems.

• Proven ability to integrate AI tools into daily engineering workflows to enhance efficiency and deliver superior quality results.

• Excellent communication skills: capable of clearly articulating complex technical and architectural challenges, building consensus with peers, and collaborating effectively in an async-first, globally distributed environment.

• Self-driven and autonomous, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude and the capacity to succeed in a fully remote organization.

• Nice to have: Experience with AI engineering or developing AI-integrated product features.

• Nice to have: Proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
