Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish technical solutions to address business challenges and contribute to a scalable architectural vision.

• Create and deploy functional code utilizing Kotlin microservices, Postgres, React, and some Ruby on Rails.

• Frequently deploy using CircleCI and Spinnaker for continuous integration and delivery.

• Collect customer feedback to guide iterations.

• Develop technical skills alongside experienced peers.

• Oversee services, identify root causes, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.

• Assume responsibility for team-managed services and ensure alignment with AlphaSights Engineering strategy.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other departments.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a STEM field is generally expected, though alternative paths are considered.

• Over 5 years of experience in a comparable role within a mature engineering team.

• Proficient in at least one programming language.

• Experience with Kotlin; familiarity with Ruby is beneficial as it is used by the team.

• Ideally, experience with relational databases.

• Proven track record of impact in previous positions.

• Must currently reside in the UK.
