Senior Backend Engineer – AI-Assisted

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services utilizing Node.js 22 and TypeScript 5.5.

• Construct and oversee database schemas, migrations, and data access layers with Prisma ORM.

• Create and manage domain-driven microservices with well-defined service boundaries and ownership.

• Develop and facilitate REST APIs for internal service-to-service communication.

• Implement and uphold asynchronous processing workflows and event-driven architectures.

• Apply CQRS principles to distinguish between transactional and reporting workloads.

• Establish reliable data consistency patterns, including the Transactional Outbox Pattern.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on architectural design, code quality, and system scalability initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software engineering.

• Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript in production settings.

• Practical experience using TypeScript Strict Mode.

• Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture and domain-driven design principles.

• Experience in designing and utilizing REST APIs.

• Solid experience with Prisma ORM, focusing on schema design and database migrations.

• Proven ability in creating and supporting asynchronous processing workflows.

• Strong grasp of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with relational databases and multi-database environments.

• AI-Assisted Development expertise is required: Candidates must be proficient in VS Code and GitHub Copilot, beyond basic autocomplete. Skills should include creating Copilot instruction files for repository context, developing reusable prompt libraries for backend workflows, and utilizing Copilot Agent workflows to generate high-quality TypeScript, Prisma migrations, and service handlers.
