Senior Backend Developer – Shopify API GraphQL, Spring Boot 3, GCP, Azure, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and implement robust, scalable backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot 3 on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Assume full responsibility for the complete development lifecycle of new platform features, including technical design and requirement clarification with product and support teams, as well as testing and deployment.

• Address the logic and challenges associated with Shopify API integrations and devise solutions that provide significant value to our customers in accounting and e-commerce.

• Actively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production environments to guarantee that our platform remains performant and reliable.

• Engage in code reviews, share insights with the team, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in backend development, possessing strong expertise in Java and the Spring Boot framework.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools and a desire to further enhance AI utilization in our development practices.

• Structured thinking: Capable of dissecting complex problems, clarifying requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and designing clean, well-engineered solutions.

• API expertise: Extensive experience in designing and utilizing Shopify GraphQL APIs, including intricate third-party integrations.

• Cloud knowledge: Practical experience in building and deploying applications on cloud platforms, ideally GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, etc.).

• Problem-solving skills: Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Comfortable navigating uncertainty and identifying the root causes of issues.

• Strong collaboration: Communicates effectively and works well in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity with Git, continuous deployment pipelines (e.g., GitLab), and agile methodologies such as monthly scope planning and regular code reviews.
