Senior Backend Developer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance critical applications within the payment ecosystem.

• Work with legacy Java applications utilizing Java 8, WebObjects with Wonder, Quartz, and Axis/SOAP integrations.

• Develop and advance modern backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot.

• Create, troubleshoot, and optimize critical backend workflows related to payments.

• Engage in integrations with internal systems and external partners.

• Support modernization initiatives, containerization, and deployment in Kubernetes with Helm.

• Investigate incidents, integration failures, performance issues, and unexpected behaviors in production.

• Contribute to automated testing, mocks, and technical validations using Playwright and WireMock.

• Implement best practices for resilience, such as fallback, retry, and circuit breaker.

• Work with SQL Server databases, automation using Ansible, and integrations/events with Kafka.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Java 8, particularly in maintaining legacy applications.

• Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot.

• Knowledge or willingness to work with WebObjects with Wonder.

• Experience with Quartz for job scheduling.

• Familiarity with SOAP/Axis integrations.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm.

• Experience with SQL Server.

• Familiarity with Ansible.

• Experience or familiarity with testing using Playwright and WireMock.

• Understanding of resilience concepts in distributed systems: fallback, retry, and circuit breaker.

• Knowledge of Kafka.

• Experience in payment systems (payment proxy, gateway, or acquiring) is a plus.

• Background with critical applications in production is a plus.

• Experience in modernizing legacy applications is a plus.

• Knowledge in observability, troubleshooting, and incident analysis is a plus.

• Completed High School education.
