Senior Backend Developer – Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and develop APIs that handle high volumes and low latency.

• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Marketing teams throughout the phases of design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Partner with engineers across the organization to develop new features on a large scale.

• Create secure and scalable solutions that facilitate seamless payments.

• Work within a trustworthy and agile environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience in software development, specifically with distributed projects and technologies (Java).

• Proven hands-on experience in team management and leadership.

• Familiarity with NoSQL/RDBMS systems such as MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.

• Knowledge of application security principles, including secure coding standards and practices.

• Understanding of API design and architectural patterns, such as API Gateway, OpenAPI, and REST.

• Comprehension of fundamental design principles for scalable applications.

• Experience with stream-processing systems like Apache Kafka, Amazon SQS, and Google Cloud Pub/Sub.

• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and estimation practices.

• Experience in payments and ISO8583 message format is a plus.

• Familiarity with HSM (preferably Thales) is an advantage.

• Knowledge of PCI Compliance standards is a bonus.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience with cloud platforms like Google, AWS, Azure, and Docker is beneficial.
