Senior Backend Developer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain integrations with Simetrik, ensuring reliable ingestion, reconciliation, and transaction monitoring flows.

• Develop, construct, and uphold microservices and backend components utilizing Java + Spring Boot + WebFlux.

• Build and integrate secure, efficient, and well-documented REST APIs (including integrations with Simetrik and other core systems).

• Ensure quality through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

• Engage in agile teams (planning, refinement, sprints, retrospectives).

• Support deployments and operations in cloud environments (primarily AWS) alongside the platform/DevOps team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven knowledge and experience in integration with Simetrik (data source configuration, reconciliation pipelines, integration via API/SFTP/events, and report and alert management).

• Strong experience with Java 21+.

• Proficiency in Spring Boot and reactive programming with Spring WebFlux.

• Expertise in building REST APIs and microservices architecture.

• Applied knowledge of Clean Architecture (maintainable structure).

• Experience with persistence using Hibernate and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).

• Unit testing skills with JUnit + Mockito.

• Dependency management and building with Gradle 8.x.

• Consumption of services using WebClient (WebFlux) or other equivalent clients.

• Experience with AWS services (preferably EKS and RDS/Aurora).

• Containerization with Docker and deployments in orchestrated environments (Kubernetes/EKS).

• Experience with other financial reconciliation or data quality tools (desirable).

• Knowledge of performance testing (e.g., JMeter) (desirable).

• AWS certifications (a plus).
