Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create backend services for the StellarTech Platform from the ground up utilizing Python

• Design and execute scalable, dependable, and maintainable backend solutions

• Collaborate with the Tech Lead, Product Manager, engineers, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and evaluate technical feasibility

• Engage in architecture and technical discussions, particularly regarding service design, data flows, integrations, and system reliability

• Develop integrations with external platforms, APIs, and third-party services

• Work with microservice and event-driven architectures, including message queues, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems

• Ensure optimal platform performance, quality, stability, and reliability

• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve production issues using logs, monitoring, alerts, metrics, and root-cause analysis

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and delivery speed

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of backend development experience

• Extensive knowledge of the Python ecosystem and contemporary backend development methodologies

• Proven experience in building scalable, high-load, or data-intensive applications

• Strong grasp of relational databases, including schema design, transactions, indexing, and query performance

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and the ability to identify appropriate use cases

• Solid understanding of message queues, event-driven systems, and microservice architectures

• Experience in integrating with external platforms, APIs, or third-party services

• Strong production ownership mindset, focusing on monitoring, logging, alerting, debugging, incident investigation, and reliability enhancements

• Proficiency with CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions

• Capability to work independently, make pragmatic technical choices, and take full ownership of backend services from start to finish

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar
