Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Architect and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that facilitate communications, experimentation, and personalization initiatives.

• Execute well-defined projects from start to finish, encompassing technical design through to production launch.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to convert growth strategies into effective technical solutions.

• Participate in architectural decisions with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Create comprehensive technical documentation to enhance asynchronous collaboration.

• Adhere to established engineering best practices concerning security, observability, testing, and performance.

• Operate with a significant degree of autonomy in a senior engineering role focused on delivery.

• Deliver high-quality systems rapidly within a cross-functional team environment.

• No responsibilities for people management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing backend systems within production settings.

• Expertise in backend programming languages such as Python or Kotlin, or similar alternatives.

• Experience with AWS or another leading cloud service provider.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.

• Demonstrated capability to independently deliver complex backend functionalities.

• Comfortable collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams in an async-first environment.

• Ability to quickly adapt to an existing codebase and provide value during short-term engagements.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms, such as Kafka or Kinesis.

• Experience with experimentation platforms like A/B testing or feature flags.

• Exposure to large-scale personalization, messaging, or systems focused on growth.
