Senior Back End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services primarily in Clojure, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and high-performing.

• Aiding in the upkeep and gradual modernization of legacy Node.js services.

• Collaborating on cloud deployments by utilizing modern tools and infrastructure-as-code methodologies to improve deployment pipelines and system reliability.

• Crafting clean, well-documented code and engaging in code reviews to maintain quality standards.

• Partnering closely with senior engineers, DevOps, and fellow team members to integrate backend services and troubleshoot operational challenges.

• Participating in learning opportunities, embracing best practices, and keeping abreast of industry trends to enhance the backend technology stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in software development, with practical expertise in backend engineering.

• Proficiency in Clojure for the development and maintenance of backend services.

• Familiarity with Node.js, particularly for supporting legacy services.

• Comprehension of service-oriented architectures and RESTful API design.

• Experience in cloud environments and utilizing modern development tools.

• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools and methodologies.

• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to debug and optimize backend systems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

• Passion for learning new tools and techniques related to cloud deployment, automation, and backend development.
