Backend Engineer – AI, Legal Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services, REST APIs, and data models utilizing TypeScript and Node.js.

• Create document ingestion, processing, semantic search, vector search, and RAG-based systems leveraging LLMs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

• Construct and manage asynchronous processing pipelines, background workers, and long-running tasks.

• Enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and security in distributed, multi-tenant systems and databases.

• Collaborate with engineering, legal, and product teams to implement customer-facing features and contribute to architectural decisions.

• Monitor, maintain, and consistently improve production systems and platform functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js.

• Strong comprehension of APIs, databases, distributed systems, and backend architecture.

• Experience in designing and implementing solutions within existing production codebases.

• Proficient in operating and supporting backend services in live production settings.

• A robust ownership mindset focused on reliability, maintainability, and ongoing enhancement.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
