Senior Azure Cloud Architect / DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and continuously enhance the Azure cloud architecture with an emphasis on AKS, networking, and security.

• Develop reusable, documented Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible, and create and manage multi-stage CI/CD pipelines.

• Operate and harden Kubernetes workloads, including managing certificates, Ingress, secrets, and upgrades.

• Implement and maintain monitoring and observability solutions, analyzing performance and stability issues in production environments.

• Provide guidance to executive management and technical teams on architecture, security, and cost optimization, including technical coordination with customer stakeholders.

• Maintain architecture documentation and runbooks, and explore the integration of Azure OpenAI/AI services into operational processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure as the primary cloud platform (minimum 4 years).

• Strong practical experience in building, operating, and securing AKS (including Helm, Ingress, TLS, and upgrades).

• Extensive knowledge of Azure networking components such as VNETs, subnets, NSGs, peering, VPN, Application Gateway, and Private Endpoints.

• Proficient in using core Azure services, including Storage, SQL, Key Vault, Managed Identity, Event Hub, Service Bus, Data Factory, and API Management.

• Production experience with Terraform and Ansible, as well as CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) and container- and GitOps workflows (including Docker, Argo CD, Kustomize).

• Knowledge of security hardening practices (such as Zero Trust, Entra ID, OAuth2, RBAC in AKS).

• Basic knowledge of Spring Boot/Java microservices, Kafka/event streaming, and REST API design is advantageous.
