Senior AWS Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create and implement AWS-based hosting environments on EKS, fulfilling customer requirements across various AWS services.

• Assist in cloud migration, implementation, and modernization initiatives, offering architectural advice for AWS-based solutions.

• Diagnose application deployments, replicate customer issues, and develop proof of concept applications.

• Author and interpret configuration scripts for client environments to install software, set up logging, and adjust configuration files.

• Utilize advanced troubleshooting methods to deliver customized solutions based on specific customer use cases.

• Support infrastructure hardening, vulnerability scanning, and remediation actions in line with cloud security best practices.

• Generate technical documentation and relevant materials for Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages, collaborating closely with compliance teams for regulated cloud environments.

• Investigate, assess, and implement emerging technologies to enhance cloud architectures, security, and operational efficiency.

• Mentor and cultivate team members by sharing technical knowledge, encouraging knowledge exchange, and promoting continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Designed and executed Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Docker, and containerized solution architectures, incorporating advanced engineering principles related to security, segmentation, vulnerability and image scanning, and integration with third-party tools such as Sysdig Falco, Calico, and Service Mesh.

• Proven experience managing complete application stacks from the operating system to custom applications.

• Familiarity with AWS and Cloud Computing concepts (preference for experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS OpsWorks).

• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments.

• Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server, along with associated technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, etc.).

• Understanding of IP Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.).

• Experience with at least one container orchestration management platform (e.g., Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).

• Strong troubleshooting abilities across various levels of complexity.

• Expertise in using Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Experience with one or more DevOps, orchestration/configuration management, and continuous integration technologies (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible).

• Programming experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Node.js).

• Familiarity with at least one version control platform (e.g., Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC).
